Scoring is by the best edge as determined by a scoring reticle, these devices are readily available and have the calibers being contested inscribed in them plus several more that may be used in the future.
A course of fire is four targets at 100 yds. and four targets at 200 yds which will determine tha Grand Agg. winner. The value of the DOT is ELEVEN points and each successive ring is one point less; TEN, NINE, EIGHT and so on for a maximun score of 264 at each yardage and a total of 528 for the GRAND AGG. Wipe outs are not to be considered of any value. Any and all ties will be broken by CREEDMORE rules. When ties cannot be broken it’s a tie.
Ranges have the option of shooting warm-up matches if they wish, I strongly urge them not to as this is time consuming. We have shot this format for nearly a year : Begin with a three or five minute sight in period on the first target of the first relay, three minutes is usually enough, if someone gets a shot outside of the sighter area it is a simple matter to replace the target or simply note it, then if all is ready, begin relay one, and so forth on the first target of each sucessive relay. Two relays may shoot both distances for a grand agg. in around 5-5.5 hrs.
Tie breaks by Creedmore: 100 yd. agg. to be determined by first dropped point, if no points are dropped, it is a tie. Wipeouts cannot be used since we are shooting at different sized dots, the .30 cal. dot is smaller than the .224 cal. dot, thus the .30 cal. would again have an advantage. Ties in the 200 yd. agg. also to be determined by the first dropped point. In the event of a tie for Grand Agg., we will go back to the 100 yd. targets beginning with target one and progress thru until the tie is broken by the first missed dot.
